Warehouse logistics specialists accept goods of all kinds and check their quantity and condition using the accompanying documents. They organize the unloading of goods, sort them and store them properly in previously planned locations. They ensure that the goods are stored under optimum conditions and regulate the temperature and humidity, for example. In the outgoing goods department, they plan delivery tours and determine the most favorable shipping method. They put together deliveries, pack the goods and prepare accompanying documents such as delivery bills or customs declarations. They also load trucks, containers or railroad wagons, operate forklift trucks and secure freight to prevent it from shifting or leaking. In addition, warehouse logistics specialists optimize the internal flow of information and materials from procurement to sales. They explore sources of goods, compare offers, order goods and arrange payment.
